Sound Pollution
There are many factors (কারণ) responsible for environment pollution. Sound pollution is one of them. When the vibration (স্পন্দন) of sound is at a tolerable (সহনীয়) and pleasant (সুখকর) level, it is simply (সাধারণত) called sound. But when it is sharp (তীক্ষ্ণ) and harsh (কর্কশ) to the ears, it becomes noise. Because of the growth (বৃদ্ধি) of urban population (শহরের জনসংখ্যা) and the increasing use of machines in our everyday life (দৈনন্দিন জীবন) there has been a general increase in the level of sound around (চারদিকে) us. Moreover, busy traffic (যানবাহন), live rock-music, microphone, factory work, truck driving and primary school teaching produce a lot of noise. Serious harm can be caused to people when they are regularly (নিয়মিত) exposed (অভ্যন্ত) to a noisy (গোলযোগপূর্ণ) situation (অবস্থা). Any kind of noise makes us aggressive (বদমেজাজি) and damages (ধ্বংস করা) our power of hearing (শ্রবণ শক্তি). The patients (রোগী) of the hospitals suffer most because of the sound pollution from vehicle (যানবাহন) horns (বাঁশি) and microphones. To control (নিয়ন্ত্রণ করা) sound pollution is very essential (প্রয়োজন) for us. This is possible only by careful town planning (পরিকল্পিত নগরায়ন) and developing public awareness (জনসচেতনতা). Mills and factories should be established (প্রতিষ্ঠিত) in the remote (দূরে) areas of the town. Besides, the government should have strict laws (কঠোর আইন) against those who create noise without any reason.
